Riot Platforms, a leading Bitcoin mining company, has appointed three new directors to its board: Jaime Leverton, Doug Mouton, and Michael Turner. This strategic move aims to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) into Riot’s operations. Leverton, formerly the CEO of Hut 8 Mining Corp, led the company’s expansion into HPC by acquiring TeraGo’s data center business. Mouton brings experience from his tenure as a senior engineer at Meta, focusing on data center design and construction. Turner, the former president of Oxford Properties Group, offers expertise in real asset investment and capital allocation. Riot has also engaged Evercore and Northland Capital to evaluate potential AI and HPC applications for its Corsicana, Texas facility.
