Apple has long been rumored to have designs on launching a new iPhone 17 Air, the first iPhone to carry the iconic title. Now, a new report claims that the device will sell for around $900 with some specific features.
According to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17 Air will start around $899 in the United States, meaning it will likely replace the iPhone 16 Plus in the lineup as had previously been tipped.
The phone is also expected to be supremely thin, as the name suggests, but despite that, it’s thought that battery life won’t be impacted. Gurman believes that we should expect the new iPhone to have a similar battery life to other models.
It’s thought that will be achieved by making the rest of the iPhone 17 Air’s components particularly energy efficient, including the use of Apple’s new C1 modem that first debuted in the iPhone 16e.
As for the rest of the phone, it’s thought that we should expect the Camera Control button to be present with all of the same capabilities that are offered on other iPhone 16 models.
It’s also expected that the bezels of the new model will be around the same thickness as the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, something that will also help with the Air connotations.
Finally, it’s thought that the new model will come with a 6.6-inch display sporting 120Hz ProMotion support as well as a Dynamic Island.
