Visual Studio Code update auto-starts MCP servers

VS Code 1.103 also adds support for Git worktrees, which enable checking out of multiple branches at once. Worktrees make it easy to test changes or work in parallel without switching contexts, Microsoft said. When opening a folder or workspace that has a Git repository, VS Code 1.103 detects worktrees and displays them in the source control repositories view. Users can view, create, delete, and open worktrees in a new or current window via commands from the Command Palette or Source Control Repositories view.

For Copilot chats, meanwhile, VS Code 1.103 introduces checkpoints that allow users to restore different states of chat conversations. The ability to revert edits and go back to certain points in a Copilot chat conversation can be particularly useful if multiple files were changed in the session, Microsoft noted.

The VS Code 1.103 release follows VS Code 1.102, which was released July 9. Other features in VS Code 1.103 include the following:

Donner Music, make your music with gear
Multi-Function Air Blower: Blowing, suction, extraction, and even inflation
